Olsen Estates from the air

The Olsens – Martin, Larry, Dick, Leif

The Olsen Family

The Olsen family’s historical love for the land began when Martin Olsen settled on ten acres in the area in 1908.

Martin and Marie’s son, Ralph, later farmed in the Whitstran area of the valley. Ralph’s sons, Dick and Larry, established the Olsen Brothers Farm in 1972. The farm started with apples and cherries, but the brothers were visionaries and the farm became much more. The brothers planted their first grape vines in 1980 and for years have supplied wine grapes to other prestigious wineries. Dick was also a founding member of the Washington Wine Commission and served as a commissioner for 12 years.

Now Dick and Larry’s sons help carry on the family legacy. Martin Olsen manages the winery, and Leif Olsen manages the vineyard.
